As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems across a range of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems under the guidance of senior engineers

  • Perform system calculations using industry-standard design software

  • Produce high-quality construction drawings and technical documentation

  • Assist in creating technical reports and feasibility studies

  • Conduct field investigations and site assessments of existing systems

  • Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs

  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards, including ASHRAE


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Construction Engineering

  • 3–10 years of experience in HVAC design for commercial, industrial, or institutional buildings

  • Experience in plumbing and fire protection systems design

  • EIT or PE license (or working toward licensure)

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC software (e.g., Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP)

  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage directly with clients

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities


Work Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Based in Ames or Des Moines, IA, or Omaha, NE
