Join a Firm That Redefines What It Means to Work in Accounting

Are you seeking more than just a role in accounting? Are you looking for a career where you're continuously challenged, genuinely valued, and actively supported on your path to partnership? At our firm, we're reshaping the accounting profession through a collaborative, transparent, and client-centered approach — and we're looking for a Tax Accountant who shares our vision.

This is not your typical CPA firm. From day one, you'll work directly with clients, contribute to high-level strategy, and gain the experience needed to evolve into a trusted financial advisor and future partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts with precision and care.

  • Communicate with clients in a professional and courteous manner, offering clear guidance and insight into tax matters.

  • Work closely with business owners, executives, and controllers of small to mid-sized businesses, both nationally and internationally.

  • Engage in specialized areas including IRS dispute resolution, international tax, mergers and acquisitions, forensic accounting, audits, and strategic tax planning.

  • Represent the firm at networking events and professional seminars, especially within the San Francisco business community.

  • Collaborate with partners and senior leadership on complex client matters.

  • Contribute to the firm's strategic planning and operational decision-making.

What Sets Us Apart

  • True Partner-in-Training Program with a defined path to leadership.

  • Immediate client exposure — no gatekeeping, no silos.

  • Focus on critical thinking, writing, and communication as core professional skills.

  • Sandler Sales Training access for those interested in business development.

  • Engage in diverse, challenging work — far beyond basic tax returns.

  • Open-book financials and a culture of transparency in decision-making.

  • Autonomy and trust — no micromanagement, no busy work.

  • Collaborative team culture — you're never left on your own.

  • A firm where mistakes are seen as growth opportunities, not failures.

  • No office politics — zero tolerance for gossip, 100% focus on team success.

  • Inclusion in strategic conversations and client interactions at all levels.

  • Approachable leadership that invests in your mentorship and development.

Compensation & Incentives

  • 17.5% commission on new client referrals for two years — up to 35% total.

  • 25% direct pay on billable hours, increasing to 33% after 1,500 realized hours.

  • No 55+ hour workweeks — we value balance over burnout.

  • BNI membership sponsored to support your networking growth.

  • Full partner support in closing new business — with no commission split.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting from a U.S.-accredited institution.

  • Active pursuit of CPA licensure.

  • Prior experience in tax preparation within a CPA firm preferred.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Tech-savvy and familiar with modern accounting software platforms.

  • Ethical, client-first mindset with a commitment to excellence.

Our Core Values

  • Unwavering integrity, honesty, and trustworthiness.

  • Commitment to technical excellence and quality standards.

  • Aggressive yet fully documented positions that withstand scrutiny.

  • No shortcuts — every return is mini-audited for accuracy.

  • Highly organized operations with robust systems and workflows.

  • Advanced technology and top-tier data security.

  • Warm, respectful, and team-oriented workplace culture.

  • Transparent, collaborative, and supportive at every level.
